The 3 best double-cheeseburgers in Milwaukee

Here’s where you can find the three best double-cheeseburgers in Milwaukee:

#3: Kopps Frozen Custard. They have three locations. Huge burgers, and they’re famous in Milwaukee, but I think you can do better.

#2: Omega Burger & Custard. They have at least two locations that I know of, one at Hwy 100 & Layton, the other near Lincoln & KK. The burgers aren’t as big as Kopps or Golden Gyros, but they’re good.

#1: Golden Gyros: At 72nd & Lincoln. Huge, delicious burgers. They also have gyros that are supposed to be good too, but every time I go there I can’t resist getting another delicious double-cheeseburger, extra cheese, ketchup, and pickles. Yum!

I’ve heard of other burger joints that are supposed to be good, and I’m going to try a new one tomorrow—the Nite Owl Ice Cream Parlour at 830 E. Layton, by the airport.

Strangely, all these places have good ice cream, too. I prefer Omega for this purpose.

    The Nite Owl was ho-hum. We got there at 6:15 and we were the last customer to be served. What kind of burger joint closes at 6:15!

    The rings were not as good as Golden Gyros. The malt was ok. The burger was nothing special.

    What makes me not interested in going back is the way the girl who waited on us treated everyone else. People trying to enjoy a meal at The Nite Owl after 6:15 really got a very cold shoulder. She was inconvenienced by them trying to do business there. The “manager” was pleasant, but c’mon, 6:15? How long has this place been around?

    Have you tried “Fred’s Worlds Best Burger” in Burlington? They are awesome! I have seen tour bus loads of folks going into Fred’s.

    I also discovered that the hamburger hall of fame is in Seymour.

    Enjoy those burgers!

    Kutchie’s Key West Kutcharitaville Cafe. Captain Tony and Jimmy Buffett Told me that Years Ago! Who Would Know Better Than Them! Kutchie’s Cheese Burgers are World Famous and he also makes his Home Made World Famous Key Lime Pie. It is Sooooo Good, Wish I had some right now.
